It is now for me 19 September in a new time zone for Peru. 2 hours behind Chile. So today is going to be a long one. I could not sleep much last night and as such I was up at 3 am. Then headed to the airport at 4!
This was fun. My very poor Spanish and the drivers very poor English but finally I understood that he was asking if I wanted the departures, even though I had bags!
I arrived all in one piece as we went a different way to that of my arrival. I had booked a pickup for 6 am but I found out that check in was three hours in advance, rather than 2. I tried to change the booking on line but all every time I tried the web site gave password error. Next option was the taxi. Also the taxi driver used a great app called waze. Look this one up works worldwide to help navigate traffic.
So at the airport and the benefit of Qantas club allowed my into the LAN lounge. Breakfast time. Mine you at 4 am the MacDonald's near my accommodation was open. Not so yesterday as national day holiday.
Finally some daylight before my flight so you get to see the airport.
Then a second breakfast on the plane too.
And I do not normally food photo either.
Arrived at Lima and I had organised the motel to pick me up.
On the flight I could see the Andes again once we cleared the clouds.
Then the welcome to Lima sign.
Then a trip to the motel. The airport area is very much like Bali. But one difference there are cars and not motorbikes. The roads are Crazy really CRAZY.
